My First Post/Getting to Know Me

Hi there!
My name is Dana, and this is my first blog post, so bear with me.  So, as I'm sure you can tell from the title, this blog's main focus is going to be sharing my thoughts on the books I'm reading.  I chose the title reading glasses because, as anyone who knows me will tell you, I consider my glasses part of my personality.  Some people might say "why not just join a book club to share your thoughts?" but I've thought a lot about this decision, and, besides the fact that the local library's morning book club is full, I want the option to read what I want, when I want.

So I guess I'll share a little more about myself, in case anyone besides my grandma actually chooses to read this.  I'm a 24 year old quality control analyst.  I studied chemistry, anthropology, and sociology.  I hope to go back to grad school to study virology, or "microbiology and molecular genetics" as the grad schools call it.  I'm obviously interested in reading, particularly fantasy and science fiction books with strong, analytical/scientific female leads.  I am currently reading a few different series, which I will list below for anyone that wants to get caught up with me (which I highly recommend, since this entire blog will be spoilers).
The Dr. Greta Helsing series by Vivian Shaw (books 1-2)
The Chronicles of St. Mary's series by Jodi Taylor (up to book 4)
The Memoirs of Lady Trent series by Marie Brennan (currently reading book 4)

So to start off, over the next three posts, I will share my thoughts on these series, up to my current location in each.  After that, I will focus more on each book as I read it.  I cannot give a good timeline as to when these posts will come out, but I will try to stick to one post a week, at least for the first few.  (I will probably skip next week, to give people time to catch up.) To give this blog some structure, I will announce which books I will be spoiling in the beginning of each blog post.  I will also announce the topic of the next blog post at the end, so all my avid fans know what to read next. So I guess now's as good a time as any to announce that my next blog post will be about books 1-3 of the amazing time travel series that has taken the world (or at least women around my age) by storm, The Chronicles of St. Mary's.  Also, that last sentence was a pun about time travel, in case you missed it.  See you next time!
